Session 1: Scroll Compressors and Application

This session of the workshop will review the history and development of Scroll design and show how the compressor pumps refrigerant and why it is protected by design. There will be a discussion on the different methods for variable capacity achieved and the benefits from these new applications.

Session 2: Semi-Hermetic Compressors-Operation and Applications

Covered in this session will be the operation and applications of semi-hermetic compressors and when they are used. Discussed will be the benefits of working on a serviceable type of application. Reviewed will be the operation of demand cooling, compressor unloading and why they may be needed. Additional review of oil management, oil pump operation, and how lubrication is achieved.
