Unveiled today in conjunction with the AHR Expo in Las Vegas, MEGAcel I HF is designed for new construction and aftermarket applications and can deliver up to 2,400 CFM in a standard footprint with the potential for smaller air handling units (AHU) with fewer filter positions, simplifying system design and ultimately lowering project costs.
“Leak integrity testing is impossible with traditional V-Bank HEPA filters,” says Don Largent, Director of High Purity Product Management, AAF International. “MEGAcel I HF brings to the market a new design that can be scanned effectively while offering comparable CFM and pressure drop performance to that of a V-Bank HEPA filter.”
In certain instances, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or other regulatory bodies require integrity testing and the certification of HEPA filtration systems, including a HEPA leak scan test. “MEGAcel I HF fits this bill perfectly as the first, consistently reliable testing solution for design engineers and facility managers that doesn’t sacrifice performance or add cost,” adds Largent. In addition, the scanability of MEGAcel I HF is vital to bio-security integrity, particularly in such industries as biosafety and containment applications, cleanroom AHUs, pharmaceutical and life science production, semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturing, and nuclear facilities.
MEGACel I HF also works well in aftermarket applications and can easily replace glass media box filters for greater air flow and lower pressure drop, and traditional V Bank filters where periodic testing is required.
MEGAcel I HF also brings added strength and durability, with a patented membrane media that is up to 8x stronger than traditional glass media, helping minimize damage and offering performance reliability in high-humidity environments. It also supports LEED and sustainability goals due to overall lower energy costs, lighter weight, fewer and/or smaller AHUs, and durability that leads to a longer service life.
“We have created the perfect storm of efficiency, performance, safety, and durability in a HEPA filter,” concludes Largent. “The quality of the air we breathe is critical, and for vital industries where optimal air quality is essential to protect people, products, and processes, having a product like MEGAcel I HF is game-changing and potentially lifesaving.”
