The Economic Electric Motors branch located at 4020 Thor Drive, Boynton Beach, FL 33426 hosted a Nidec motor training on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. The class was presented by Nidec Business Development and Training Manager Steve Masters.
Steve covered a lot of material during the class, including:
- ECM motor technologies; troubleshooting electronic modules; RESCUE® SELECT™ after-market X13 programmable motor and RESCUE EcoTech® PSC to EC upgrade motor overviews. Attendees earned 1 hour of NATE credit.
- MotorPro fractional horsepower (FHP) Training Program: Electric motor basics and applications; induction motor types and parts; motor nameplates and identifying the unknown motor. Attendees earned 1 ½ hours of NATE credits.
- Understanding integral horsepower (IHP) nameplate terminology including service factor, voltage, frame size and enclosures.
Steve concluded with a review of motors used in HVAC and the effects of inverter drives on motors.
