Manufacturer Warranty Rules Being Changed by FL Legislators

SWACCA just received word the Florida State Legislature has voted overwhelmingly to change the rules on manufacturer warranties. Beginning July 1, 2023 a manufacturer warranty for new equipment or a component must be transferable upon sale to the new homeowner without a transfer fee. What are the new rules a contractor must follow and what changes will you expect to see in warranty documents and in warranty claims. That will be the topic of a panel discussion with a contractor, manufacturer, and underwriter for labor and equipment warranties at this meeting.
