TRACCA Tallahassee: Chapter Meeting, 2024 HVAC Laws & Codes

Description: Kick off the new year with us, just in time for new codes and a new legislative session. Do you understand all the updated HVAC codes and laws that went into effect this year? Join us at Libby Café on Lively Technical College’s campus and we’ll cover these topics and more.  Lunch will be provided by the Lively Culinary School.

If you know a fellow contractor who would benefit from this meeting, bring them as well. The new laws and codes are important for everyone to know.

Speakers:
Edward Briggs, with RSA Consulting, LLC, is our state lobbyist and he, along with his firm, have been fighting hard for our industry for years. Two years ago, RSA pushed hard for the $15k NOC increase, and WON! Last year, the automatic warranty for residential equipment bill passed unanimously. This year, they have several bills on the House and Senate floor relevant to our industry.

Jackie Watts, Chief Mechanical Inspector with the City of Tallahassee, has a quick synopsis of the new Florida Building Code, 8th edition (2023) that was just released December 31, 2023.
