Johnstone Supply The Ware Group hosted low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant training classes throughout Florida during June 2024.
The classes followed the ESCO Institute Low GWP Refrigerant Safety Manual which was developed to train HVACR students and technicians in preparation for certification in the safe handling of modern refrigerants and the performance of service on systems utilizing these refrigerants.
In addition, the training covered current A2L refrigerant regulations and expected changes slated for January 1st 2025.
“Whether the manufacturer chooses R32 or R454B, knowing what to expect and how to service the equipment will be critical,” stated Johnstone Supply The Ware Group Technical Support Representative Wilson Newhouse.
A2L compatible tools such as reclaim machines, vacuum pumps and manifolds and the best practices for their use were also discussed.
