The Manasota Air Conditioning Contractors Association (MACCA) held its first dinner meeting of the new year on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Holiday Inn Sarasota Airport. The meeting was a joint event between MACCA and the Sarasota County Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Association. and the presentation was on the new SEER to SEER2 Conversion. The meeting was a sellout, with over 90 people in attendance. Speaker Tod Sutherland of Tropic Supply gave a very engaging and informative presentation. He discussed items such as what’s changing in 2023 and the new requirements, the new system of measurement and why the metric change, how this affects existing inventory, and how the U.S. government will ensure compliance; just to name a few.
Special guest Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRACCA) lobbyist, Edward Briggs, Vice President of Government Relations & Community Affairs with RSA Consulting Group, provided an update on legislative actions, bills, and process.
Past PHCC National Chair Hunter Botto was also in attendance and spoke of the importance of MACCA and the Sarasota County PHCC working together for the common good of both associations.
