The Air Conditioning Contractors Association of Central Florida (ACCA/CF) hosted their 2023 Associate Member Chili CookOFF on February 16, 2023 at the Maitland Civic Center in Maitland, FL. Over a dozen teams competed for bragging rights, being judged by a popular vote of attendees and a panel of three ACC/CF board members: Chairman Andy Brunkala of Air Tech of Central Florida, President Pat Ambrose of Ambrose Air, Inc. and Vice President Yolanda Pizarro of Energy Air.
Members of ACCA/CF shared some details of the ACCA/CF Apprenticeship Program with the crowd, stating that the program has been the shining star of the Association. Just this year, with the additional program benefits from CareerSource, the apprentices were given over a combined amount of $80,000 in tools, plus transportation funds and boots for the 100+ apprentices in the program.
Bob Hentz, representing CE, won the first place honors decided by the board members. The Trane team placed third in the “popularity” vote while Omni Group placed second and The Bank United team placed first.
