Designation supports Copeland’s longstanding global leadership in sustainable solutions that improve lives and protect the planet
Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions, announced today that it has won the 2024 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award for the fifth consecutive year1.
“President Biden’s Investing in America agenda creates unprecedented opportunity to build a clean energy economy, and private sector partners through programs like ENERGY STAR are leading the way,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I congratulate this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for their innovation and leadership, in delivering cost-effective energy efficient solutions that create jobs, address climate change, and contribute to a healthier environment for all.”
The ENERGY STAR program honors businesses and organizations, like Copeland, that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. ENERGY STAR’s Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award is the highest honor among the categories.
“At Copeland, we are leading the way in delivering sustainable climate solutions that enable our customers to drive positive change,” said Craig Rossman, president, Electronics and Controls for Copeland. “Now more than ever, consumers are seeking products that reduce their environmental impact while at the same time deliver cost savings to their personal budgets. Our Sensi smart thermostats do both – providing sustainably focused home comfort and valuable savings.”
Copeland’s ENERGY STAR certified Sensi smart thermostats can save users about 23% of HVAC energy2 consumption by adjusting the temperature using flexible scheduling, remote access and geofencing. Sensi thermostats empower consumers to control their home temperature from anywhere in the world through the top-rated app. In addition, Sensi delivers monthly usage reports that provide month-over-month comparisons of heating and cooling run times and average humidity levels unique to each home. These reports give users a clear picture of HVAC usage and energy efficiency tips to help them save even more.
Through its Sensi brand, Copeland also partners with over 100 utilities across the United States to deliver rebates and energy efficiency programs for customers using Sensi thermostats. These programs help ease demand on the power grid, enabling utilities to add more renewable energy and achieve their commitments to aggressive sustainability goals. Copeland’s smart residential and commercial thermostats, and partnerships in energy management programs, play a critical role in fulfilling those commitments while improving the reliability of the energy grid and reducing energy consumption.

1 Awards bestowed in previous year(s) were under the Emerson company name. Emerson divested its Climate Technologies business, including its Sensi smart thermostat brand, forming a new standalone company – Copeland. For more information on this divestiture, visit the Copeland newsroom announcement.
2 Energy savings are calculated by comparing operation time for a nationwide sample of Sensi users with temperature adjustments averaging 4° in comparison to users with no adjustments. Savings vary based on equipment type/condition, insulation, climate & temperature adjustment size/frequency.
