The Florida Air Conditioning Apprenticeship Association (FACAA), in conjunction with the Palm Beach Air Conditioning Contractors Association (PBACCA), honored 21 2023 graduates at a banquet held on August 3, 2023, at The Beach Club in Lake Worth Beach, FL.
More than 50 instructors, employers, friends, families and other industry members attended the event to congratulate the graduates and celebrate with them. FACAA Program Director and past PBACCA President Steve Sparks and FACAA Committee Members hosted the banquet, which began with the PBACCA General Membership Meeting.
Steve congratulated the graduates for their commitment, thanked their families for the sacrifices they endured and recognized the sponsoring employers for enabling the students to participate over the past four years.
Sara Baxter, Palm Beach County Commissioner District 6, spoke to the graduates about their value to the community. “Today, I stand before you as a messenger of optimism, and as a believer in the limitless possibilities that lie ahead. This momentous occasion marks the end of one chapter in your lives and the beginning of another. It is a time for reflection, celebration, and above all, a time to embrace the bright future that awaits each and every one of you. Remember that success is not merely measured by material possessions or titles; it is about making a positive impact on the world around you and leaving a legacy that inspires others.”
Steve Sparks introduced the instructors and was joined by Sara Baxter and Kelly McCann in presenting the graduates.
Graduates received their certificates along with gifts from Tropic Supply, Yellow Jacket/EV Dunbar, Arco Supply, Johnstone Supply Ware group, Goodman, Gemaire and the Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association.
Cody Hull received the HVAC Insider 2022 Graduate of the Year award, sponsored by Peter Montana of ACProsite.com. Criteria considered in selecting the recipient include attendance, grades, attitude, participation in classes and mentoring of the other students.
Steve Sparks concluded the evening, reminding the group of the PBACCA Maury Jacob Scholarships that are available to assist all motivated students.
