Ferguson HVAC, a leading distributor of HVAC, plumbing, and industrial supplies, celebrated the grand opening of its new Fort Myers location on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Located at 6165 Tri-County Commerce Way Suite 300, Fort Myers, FL 33905, the store services HVAC and plumbing contractors in the Lee and Collier Counties markets.
Several dozen manufacturers were present, conducting a mini-trade show and demonstrating the latest products and technologies for over a 150 contractors and guests in attendance. The crowd enjoyed the interactions with vendors, raffle and prizes and took advantage of one-day-only deals and discounts.
Food was provided by three food trucks, courtesy of Ferguson. Brookes Nugget Wagon served chicken nuggets & pulled pork sandwiches, The La Bamba Mexican Grill food trailer served a variety of tacos and other south of the border dishes and the Kona Ice Truck topped things of with cool, tasty ice treats.
Tours of the state-of-the-art 250,000 square-foot facility were conducted with the highlight being a collection of “robots” that carry out tasks within a physical grid. One supercomputer manages each robot’s action, automating the tracking, gathering, organizing and pulling orders from hundreds of bins stacked on top of one another within the facility. First implemented at distribution centers outside of Denver, in Aurora, Colorado and outside Phoenix in Chandler, Arizona, the system complements the employees since there is still a need for associates in distribution centers to run the technology, focus on complex tasks and deliver quality customer service.
The facility also offers Pro Pick-up Lockers with convenient 24-hour access. Once an order has been processed and placed inside the locker, the contractor receives a code to access the merchandise.
