Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRACCA) board members visited the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee on January 25, 2022. FRACCA lobbyists Edward Briggs and Ron Pierce of RSA Consulting organized the trip, arranging meetings with Senators Collins and Hutson, Representatives Borrero, Rommel, McClain and Bell and other government dignitaries.
Among the topics discussed were the successful passing of the Notice of Commencement changes last year and the current Bill HB 89 Building Construction. HB 89 includes a provision for allowing licensed HVACR contractors to work on the line side of disconnect switches, making installs more efficient and saving money for consumers. A common theme of conversations was the Senators and Representatives expressing appreciation of the FRACCA members taking the time to visit Tallahassee to express their views. The board also toured the House and Senate Floor Chambers, a memorable experience for all.
