In Memoriam of Fred Martel, New England Director

It is with great sadness we inform you of the passing of our good friend and co-worker Fred Martel. Fred was the director of the company’s New England HVAC Insider edition.

Fred W. Martel who was 72, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Rhode Island Hospital.
He was the husband of Margaret L. “Peggy” (Serpa) Martel. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Wilfrid and Irene (Lessard) Martel.
Fred was an Army National Guard Veteran during the Vietnam War. He had a passion for writing which led him to his career as an editor for the New England HVAC Insider newspaper for 30 years.
His career as an editor was a large part of his life which he loved. He also loved to travel with his wife Peggy.
Besides his wife, he leaves two grandchildren, Arianna and Anthony, and one sister, Louise Roundtree of Texas. He was the father of the late Matthew Martel.
His family had a private funeral service and burial.
Fred was a good man and a great American and I’m sure we all cherish the time we had to spend with him. Fred was one of those points of light, we are all going to miss him.
