The Manasota Air Conditioning Contractors Association (MACCA) hosted its annual Turkey Shoot on Saturday, November 18, 2023, and attracted a record number of shooters who competed for a chance to win a frozen turkey and win 1st place in the team challenge. The event, which has been held for the past three years, has turned into a popular tradition.

The Turkey Shoot is a fun and friendly competition where shooters use shotguns to hit paper targets. The targets have a picture of a turkey and a circle around its head. The shooter who gets the most pellets inside the circle wins the round and takes home a frozen turkey. Each round cost $5 to enter.

This year, the event saw more than 124 shooters participate, breaking our previous record. MACCA attributes the increase to the growing interest in shooting sports and the festive atmosphere of the event. “It’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning with your friends and family, and maybe win a turkey for Thanksgiving,” said Don Duckworth, MACCA Event Chair. “We have shooters of all ages and skill levels, from kids to seniors, and everyone had a blast.”

The event was open to all skill levels, making it a family-friendly affair and a great team-building opportunity for companies. One of the highlights of the event was the performance of 12-year-old Kinsey Judge, who won highest female shooter with a score of 38. Kinsey, who has been shooting since she was nine, said she was thrilled to beat some of the older and more experienced shooters.

Congratulations to Jacob Shiver for winning 1st place in the Turkey shoot, Ed Fallon won 2nd place and James Zornan took 3rd honors. WinSupply of Port Charlotte took 1st place in the team clay shooting competition. James Zornan was named the top male shooter, Kinsey Judge securing the title of top female shooter, and Nickolas Goodarzi earning the crown for the top youth shooter.

We hope you can join us on Saturday, February 10, 2024, for our 12th Annual Sporting Clays Challenge.
