The Manasota Air Conditioning Contractors Association (MACCA) brought HVAC professionals and building officials together last week for its highly anticipated August Inspector Panel, delivering an evening of direct dialogue, practical guidance, and jobsite-focused takeaways.
Contractors from across the region filled the room to hear first-hand insights from a distinguished panel of experts:
City of Sarasota: John Mushinski – Commercial Plans Examiner, Development Services; Ray Mohamed – Mechanical Inspector
Sarasota County: Hank Fulmer – Deputy Building Official, Inspections/Licensing/Enforcement; Thomas Ryan, CBO – Inspection Manager II, Planning & Development Services
Manatee County: Shawn Baxter, BN, PX, CAC – Deputy Building Official, Review and Inspections Manager; Keith VanOstenbridge – Inspector; Stephanie Charles, CPM – Licensing & Inspections Admin Manager
The discussion focused on the upcoming A2L refrigerant transition, along with real-world guidance on compliance, permitting, and inspection expectations. Attendees were able to ask questions directly, resolve common points of confusion, and gain a clearer understanding of what inspectors look for in the field.
MACCA extends its sincere thanks to the inspectors for sharing their expertise and to all attendees for making the evening a success.
The association will continue to provide education, networking, and industry updates to support HVAC contractors and related trades in the Manasota region. For details on upcoming programs, visit macca.us/events.
