MACCA Successfully Hosts Monthly Dinner Meeting on HVAC Building Code Changes

Bob Cochell shared valuable information with the MACCA group

The Manasota Air Conditioning Contractors Association (MACCA) recently held its monthly dinner meeting at the Holiday Inn Sarasota Airport. The event, which took place on November 2, 2023, was centered around Building Code Changes and their impact on the HVAC industry, attracting a gathering of industry professionals.

During the meeting, attendees were treated to an informative presentation by HVAC business owner and avid supporter and advocate for the industry Bob Cochell, who provided a comprehensive overview of the 2023 Florida Building Code, 8th Edition. Cochell’s captivating presentation shed light on crucial updates regarding exhaust systems, duct systems, air leakage, equipment sizing, heat pumps, and refrigerant changes. Participants were highly engaged throughout the session, gaining valuable insights into the latest code modifications and their implications for the industry.
