As the Florida summer winds down contractors know this is the time when the work pace shifts gears and this October, the Florida HVACR calendar is packed.
Across the state, distributors are stepping up with events including counter days, offering hands-on product education, technical support, and face-to-face time with manufacturer reps. Mini-split and side-discharge heat pump equipment sessions are happening as well as ECM motor training programs, opportunities to learn about the technologies as efficiency standards and regulatory changes continue to push the industry forward.
It’s not all work, though. October also brings golf tournaments that combine networking with some welcome time out of the office and away from job sites. One distributor is marking a location grand reopening. Association inspector nights and lunch-and-learns are building bridges between contractors, inspectors, and suppliers. And let’s not forget one of the more creative fall gatherings: “Airtoberfest”, a fun and social event blending education with a seasonal celebration.
Many contractors will also be traveling nationally this month. The WHVACR 22nd Annual Conference in Las Vegas will bring together women leaders and advocates across the HVACR industry. Also in Las Vegas, Service World Expo 2025 promises high-energy sessions on business management, marketing, and leadership. For those seeking a mix of learning and breathtaking scenery, the SMACNA Annual Conference in Maui will focus on sheet metal and air conditioning best practices, while the PHCC Connect 2025 Growth Through Collaboration Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan will draw plumbing, heating, and cooling professionals from across the country.
The shoulder season is the time to sharpen your team’s technical skills, strengthen relationships across the supply chain, and explore new ways to grow your business. The work you put into training and connection now will pay dividends when the next wave of peak-season demands hits.
