Signs of Progress, But More Participation Needed

When I launched the ACprosite Workforce Hub earlier this year, my goal was simple: create a Florida-focused employment resource connecting HVACR employers with people looking to build careers in our industry.

I’ll admit that participation has been slower than I hoped. Between March 20 and May 31, eight job postings generated 80 visits and 103 views. While those numbers are encouraging for a new platform, they also tell me we need more employers to post opportunities if the Hub is going to reach its full potential.

The need for workforce development isn’t going away. In fact, it may soon receive a significant boost. During the recent Palm Beach Air Conditioning Contractors Association meeting at the Delray Beach Carver Technical Education Center,  Palm Beach County Schools’ Director of Adult and Community Education Fred Barch shared plans that could eventually see Palm Beach County operating five accredited technical colleges. That’s the kind of long-term investment our industry needs if we’re serious about addressing workforce shortages and creating career pathways for future technicians.

Addressing the workforce shortage at a much earlier age, the GRIT Foundation just announced the date for their GRIT Foundation Golf Invitational: October 17, 2026 at the Clermont National Golf Club in Clermont, FL. Through one-day GRIT Camps and Workshops, young people work alongside industry professionals and explore real-world skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more. Contact abby@thegritfoundation.com or leilani@thegritfoundation.com to learn more or become a sponsor.

And speaking of growth, I’m excited to share that another ACprosite initiative is about to become reality. The new ACprosite YouTube Channel, produced in collaboration with Million Dollar HVACR and Media Components, is going live Monday, June 15, 2026!

Here’s a sneak peek link. I encourage you to take a look. The channel will provide another avenue for sharing industry news, event coverage, interviews, training highlights, and the people who make Florida’s HVACR industry such a dynamic community.

As always, thank you for your support. Now let’s fill that Workforce Hub with opportunities.

Warm regards,
Peter Montana, Managing Director, ACprosite
