“The Future of Florida’s HVAC Industry is Walking Across the Stage.”

The last couple months were a celebration across Florida’s HVAC industry as dozens of young men and women reached an important milestone in their careers. Whether it was RACCA, the Volusia County High Schools HVAC Academy, ACCA of Central Florida, Florida Training Services, MACCA, or the many other apprenticeship and technical training programs around the state, each graduation ceremony represented far more than a certificate or diploma. It marked another step toward addressing one of our industry’s greatest challenges, building the skilled workforce needed to meet Florida’s growing demand for HVAC professionals.

The success of these graduates didn’t happen by accident. It reflects the dedication of instructors, contractor employers, associations, school districts, distributors, manufacturers, and family members who invested their time and resources to prepare the next generation of HVAC professionals.

To support those entering the trade, ACprosite continues expanding its workforce resources. Our new “Training” tab links to a statewide directory of regional HVACR training facilities making it easier than ever to locate technical schools and apprenticeship programs throughout Florida. Equally important, our Help Wanted Workforce Hub gives contractors an opportunity to connect with newly trained technicians who are eager to begin building their careers. I encourage companies looking for quality employees, and graduates searching for your first opportunity, to take advantage of these free resources.

I’m equally excited to announce another milestone for ACprosite. Our new YouTube channel is now live and can be accessed directly from the Videos tab on the navigation bar. Through interviews, event coverage, product spotlights, and short industry updates, we’re adding a new dimension to our mission of keeping Florida’s HVAC professionals informed and connected. I hope you’ll subscribe, share the videos with your team, and let us know about events and stories you’d like us to cover. Thank you to Million Dollar HVACR / Media Components for collaborating with us in this endeavor.

Finally, I’d like to touch on an issue that extends beyond HVAC. The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) is opposing legislation in Louisiana that would weaken professional licensing and oversight. Their concerns are reminiscent of Florida’s own recent effort to consolidate trade licensing and regulation under a more centralized administrative structure within the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Regardless of where you stand on these proposals, they serve as an important reminder that contractors must remain engaged with their professional associations and informed about legislative and regulatory issues that can directly affect their businesses, employees, and customers.

Whether it’s preparing tomorrow’s technicians, embracing new ways to communicate, or protecting the integrity of our licensed trades, our industry’s future depends on participation. Thank you for making ACprosite part of that effort and thank you for everything you do to strengthen Florida’s HVAC community.

For readers who would like additional background on the licensing issue, see the PHCC article on Louisiana’s HB953 and ACprosite’s earlier coverage of Florida’s proposal, Attention Florida HVACR Contractors and Other DBPR Regulated and Licensed Professionals.

Warm regards,
Peter Montana, Managing Director, ACprosite
