A native of Indianapolis, IN, Tony has lived in Florida for 31 years and brings a great wealth of industry experience to his new position. “I’m a third-generation HVAC technician, following in my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps,” he stated. “I was 7 or 8 years old when I started accompanying my grandfather, Hearl Phlegar, to jobsites in Princeton, WV.”

In 2007 Tony started his own company, AC Services FL, and built the business while working as an HVAC/Energy Management tech for the Volusia County School Board. He left the school board in 2013 to grow A/C Services full time. He began teaching as a part time evening instructor for the Air Conditioning Contractors Association of Central Florida apprenticeship program in 2014. Tony sold his company earlier this year to utilize his skills and knowledge to help, teach and guide contractors, technicians and end users with the York brand of equipment.

“I love seeing the aha! moment when a tech understands what I am training in the classroom or teaching in the field,” Tony said. “Knowing that the assistance is complete and we have a happy customer is very satisfying. I look forward to being a valuable asset for York/JCI for many years to come.”

Tony shares these words of wisdom with those he meets: Believe in yourself, focus your attention and finish with a smile!
