Bruce Heberle of Chemours conducted proper system charging classes at Tropic Supply locations during January and February 2019.
The class prepared owners, HVAC technicians and other refrigerant users for the challenges they will face when choosing and using ozone safe refrigerants. Discussion focused on the new EPA regulations and an overview of the most popular replacement R22 refrigerants.
This training course is designed to improve technical expertise; increase service productivity and inform the students about the environmental impact of illegally mixing refrigerants. Attendees also learned the superheat and subcooling method of installing refrigerant, required for all replacement refrigerants.
When completed, contractors will be educated on how to reduce hazardous waste, improve system performance and prolong the longevity of existing equipment.
