Tropic Supply Hosting Lunch & Learn Series on Brazing Best Practices

Free training events will help HVAC professionals improve brazing techniques, component protection, system reliability and installation safety

Tropic Supply, in partnership with Refrigeration Technologies and Western Enterprises, will host a series of Better Installs: Best Practices for Brazing & Leak-Free Systems Lunch & Learn events at Tropic Supply Resource Centers throughout Florida during October and November, 2026.

Designed for HVAC professionals, the free training sessions will provide practical instruction on brazing best practices, component protection, leak prevention and torch safety. Attendees will learn techniques that can help improve installation quality, reduce callbacks, increase system reliability and support greater profitability.

A key focus of the training will be the use of Viper® WetRag® Heatshield, WetRag® Reusable Heat Blocking Putty and Heat Blocking Gel to protect sensitive HVAC components during brazing. Proper use of these products can help make coil repairs safer and more efficient while reducing the potential for heat-related damage and costly callbacks.

The Lunch & Learn will also cover the Cut Test using the VBKIT-01 HVAC EZ™ Braze Outfit Kit, along with safety protocols and best practices for gas flame tools, including oxyacetylene and acetylene torches. Participants will gain practical knowledge designed to improve brazing efficiency, installation quality and jobsite safety.

The trainings will be conducted by experts Brodie Rushton, Mike Grazer and Bailey-James Schommer from BTU Reps who represent Refrigeration Technologies and Western Enterprises in Florida.

The events are free but there are limited seats available and registration is required. Lunch will be provided.

HVAC contractors and technicians interested in strengthening their brazing skills and learning best practices for safer, more reliable installations are encouraged to attend.
