Zonex Announces BACnetIP Solution for GEN X System

Company’s achievement enables broader compatibility and enhances efficiency for HVAC systems.

ZoneFirst BACnetIP

Zonex Systems, a sister company of ZONEFIRST and a leading manufacturer of commercial VVT (Variable Volume & Temperature Control) solutions, announces that it now offers a BACnetIP solution for its GEN X System, an advanced HVAC control solution designed for commercial applications, capable of managing up to 400 zones with precise control over heating and cooling. This significant milestone reinforces Zonex’s commitment to delivering innovative, efficient, and interoperable zoning solutions for the HVAC industry.

At the core of the BACnetIP solution is the QuickServer gateway, developed by a third-party integrator. This BTL (BACnet Testing Laboratories) certified gateway serves as a bridge, providing seamless communication between the GEN X System and a customer’s building management system (BMS). BTL certification ensures that the Quick Server Gateway has undergone rigorous testing and meets industry standards needed to communicate with other devices via BACnetIP. This capability is essential for building management systems that require open communication standards to integrate various HVAC and control devices efficiently.

With the BACnetIP integration, Zonex’s low-cost GEN X Zoning solution can now be confidently specified for projects where BACnetIP compliance is a requirement. The GEN X System’s affordability, combined with its newly certified BACnetIP capabilities, positions it as an ideal choice for building owners, facility managers, and HVAC contractors looking for cost-effective, high-performance zoning solutions.

“Because GEN X is more affordable relative to other zoning systems in the market, building owners and management teams can save money while still providing a high-quality system that is BACnet certified for seamless integration,” said Tadd Byrnes, General Manager at Zonex Systems. “This solution opens new opportunities for our customers to incorporate GEN X into a wider range of building management systems, making it easier than ever to achieve optimal temperature control and energy efficiency across their facilities.”

“The QuickServer gateway is a game changer for the controls contractor and any building owner needing affordable temperature controls and BACnetIP integration without the big-name price,” said Rick Thomas, Product Manager at Zonex Systems. “This solution is easy to implement and just as easy to manage.”
