The Manasota Air Conditioning Contractors Association (MACCA) held a panel discussion earlier this month, discussing local county and city ordinances. Panelists included Inspection Services Supervisors with Sarasota County, Thomas Ryan and Hank Fulmer; Douglas Bellissimo, Manatee County Building Inspector; John Muchinski, Development Services, Commercial Plans Examiner, City of Sarasota; Michele Williamson, Building Inspector/Plans Examiner and Patti Fige, Building Official representing the Town of Longboat Key. The panelists provided current information on inspections, licensing, and educated our members on code changes and updates in the HVAC/R industry.
Additionally, Sarasota County announced the launch of their new online permitting system. The Accela Civic Application (ACA) is an online platform for processing various activities and services throughout the development review process from applying for a building permit to registering as a licensed contractor to tracking the status of a code enforcement case.
