Systemair, a global Swedish ventilation company, and Deltrian, a leading Belgian filter manufacturer, have joined forces to launch a new generation of virucidal filters for air handling units (AHUs). DELTRI+ filters contain advanced plasma technology capable of neutralizing or destroying 99% of all viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, as tested by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology and an independent laboratory. The filters are UL and Eurovent certified. They’re available as an optional accessory item for all new or installed Systemair Geniox and Topvex air handling units, as well as replacement filters in standard sizes for existing air handling units, regardless of the brand.
With DELTRI+, building owners can quickly improve existing units before considering more e
xtensive upgrades to their ventilation systems. Compared with other methods utilized for virus prevention, the DELTRI+ filters offer a more straightforward solution that is easy to apply and manage. Furthermore, for building owners and facility managers, the filters enable immediate additional safety when replaced.
“DELTRI+ can capture and inactivate viruses. Its effectiveness is proven in dry and wet environments, open and closed circuits alike,” said Jurgen Alexius, Owner and CCO of Deltrian. “In addition, the filters reduce the risk of transmission and proliferation of viruses and bacteria in the air. While it does not replace other preventative measures, we consider it a hands-on contribution to support a return to a more normal life.”
Jared Smith, AHU Product Manager for Systemair North America, added: “Engineers, owners, and facility managers do not need to worry about significantly increasing energy costs with this solution. Despite its virucidal functions and being classified as a MERV 16 or ISO16890 ePM1 90%, the filter holds a Eurovent Certified Performance A+ energy class rating, ensuring a low-pressure drop and market-leading dust holding capacity with the best possible energy efficiency.”
Systemair is the first HVAC manufacturer worldwide to offer air filters with DELTRI+ as replacement filters in standard sizes for existing air handling units independent from their brand. Of course, all newly built or existing Systemair Geniox AHUs and Topvex ERVs can be shipped with DELTRI+ as an optional order item.
“We are proud to cooperate with one of the world’s leading ventilation companies in launching DELTRI+,” Alexius added. “Systemair’s technical expertise and long-term market knowledge have proven invaluable in the development of this solution.”
