The Future of Home Comfort: New Quilt Research Reveals Increasingly Positive Heat Pump Perceptions Amidst Growing Consumer Demand

Quilt, a leading home climate technology startup, today released new consumer research, revealing a growing consumer desire for upgraded heating and cooling. The findings highlight an increase in awareness for heat pumps, and a preference for a more efficient, design-forward, and intuitive approach to home climate control. Quilt’s Heat Pump Awareness and Perceptions Research revealed key findings: 

Year-over-year research shows dramatic increases in positive perceptions of heat pumps:

  • 67% of homeowners see heat pumps as a good heating option (up from 54%)
  • Nearly half of homeowners (47%) now see heat pumps “for people like me” ( from 34%) 
  • Heat pumps, contrary to belief, can cool homes (58% of homeowners agree, u from 50%) 
  • 40% of homeowners recognize heat pumps increase home value (up from 28%) 

Quilt’s findings also show that heat pumps are increasingly seen as a practical solution that can benefit the entire family: 

  • Heat pumps provide more control over home comfort (49% of homeowners agree up from 36%) 
  • Heat pumps are seen as healthier than gas heat (45% agree, up from 43%
  • Heat pumps offer long-term affordability (43% agree, up from 38%
